To address and resolve Moodle LMS and hosting issues faced by GSMD. The previous Moodle instance, hosted by another company, suffered from unresponsive support, leading to complications during plugin integration.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>GSMD aims to maximize the efficiency of its Moodle LMS. Overt offers responsive technical support, ensuring that GSMD’s issues are promptly resolved. Evan Dickerson, a Learning Technologist at Guildhall School of Music & Drama, faced a challenge. They wanted to make it easier for students and teachers to use two software systems, Moodle and Mahara, for their learning and assignments. To do this, they needed to integrate the two systems. But they had trouble with their old Moodle hosting provider. They did not respond to requests for help, and they could not get the software to work properly.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Teachers often have to deal with problems like these, including issues with software, technology, and getting everything to connect properly. <\/span>However,<\/span> not everyone knows how to solve these issues.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

In the case of Guildhall School of Music and Drama, they initially had their Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) hosted by a third-party provider.<\/span> Also,<\/span> for a very long time, Guildhall School of Music and Drama needed a solution to integrate their Moodle LMS with Mahara ePortfolio software. The institute\u2019s educators and students <\/span>have<\/span> adapted to using both software for learning resources or assignments. Everything was fine at first, but as their learning institute <\/span>grows<\/span>, managing their Moodle <\/span>is<\/span> starting to be very challenging for the i<\/span>nstitute<\/span> when issues <\/span>arise<\/span>. The customer support was not responsive when they encountered technical issues and needed assistance <\/span>to \u201dallow\u201d<\/span> integrating plugins.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The Solution<\/h2>\n

Recognising the need for a change, Guildhall School of Music & Drama turned to Overt. In their discussions, Overt deeply understood the institution’s unique needs. They assured Guildhall that they could meet their rapidly changing requirements and proposed a more cost-effective solution.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Evan and his team experienced tangible improvements as they transitioned to working with Overt. They successfully maintained a stable and fully updated Mahoodle platform, resulting in minimal downtime. Overt’s support extended beyond routine maintenance, encompassing technical assistance for critical tasks like restoring corrupted module instances, facilitating plugin installations, and accommodating custom modifications.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

During the summer of 2022, Guildhall faced a storage capacity shortage.
